I was born in Lima, Peru and grew up in Miami, FL. After attending University of Miami for two years then graduating from Florida International University, I found work writing for The Miami Sunpost, The Miami Herald, The Sun-Sentinel, El Sentinel, Peru Hoy & Forum Publishing's Jewish Journal.
After having my kids I dedicated my time to them and now newly divorced, I am aiming to join the workforce again.
Many people had been telling me to get on the online bandwagon, but for the longest time I just said nah, it is not my style, I am more oldschool. Newspapers were my thing. Of course, I quickly came to the realization that old school is not where it is at.
A friend who has found success in this business put it to me in a way that made me take that next step. She asked me to think of all those other people going through the same thing who are looking for some kind of inspiration.
This made me step back and think beyond me. It would be a place I can use my writing skills and do something I love without the pressure of a work environment.
I may never get to her level, but that is okay. If I am able to reach people & help in some kind of way, that would be awesome. This journey is meant to be therapeutic.
While I'm still pitching and freelancing & on that search for a part-time writing job, I am excited to join this online community!
I want to get to know more about your journey and what motivates you.
